Michael Donald Edwards

After 18 years as Producing Artistic Director of Asolo Repertory Theatre, Michael Donald Edwards will retire in June. Michael has brought energy, excitement and enormous creativity to Asolo Rep productions over his tenure, leaving us with happy memories of the exceptional shows he has produced.

OUT@AsoloRep was created by Michael Donald Edwards to bring the LGBTQ+ community together. The series has become one of the most successful subscription initiatives in Asolo Rep’s history.

Our subscription to the OUT series has provided us with more than reduced-priced tickets to the productions; we have been recognized for who we are and for our contributions to Asolo Rep. The OUT series has created an opportunity to see great live theatre, to socialize with other members of our community, and to view the productions through Michael’s gay lens.

We want to honor Michael and memorialize his leadership by making a contribution from all of us at OUT@AsoloRep to the theater in his name. We plan to present a check for the money we raise to Michael at our May 17, 2023 OUT night as a gift in support of the Koski Center Expansion Project. If we reach our $30,000 goal, OUT@AsoloRep will be recognized on lobby plaques in the FSU Center for the Performing Arts lobby and in the Koski Center.  OUT will also be recognized in the published Season Program Book for the 2023 – 2024 Season.

We ask that you please join other OUT subscribers who have already made lead gifts in his name and make a contribution.
